Blah blah steroids.
Roger Clemens was indicted Thursday on a series of charges for lying to the United States Congress about his use of performance-enhancing drugs.
People lie about their age, their weight, their whereabouts to their wives, but lying to Congress? That's a big no-no. A snippet from the 19-page indictment:
In truth and in fact, as Clemens well knew when he gave this testimony, Clemens knowingly received injections of anabolic steroids while he was an MLB player. The Rocket was charged with one count of obstruction of the U.S. Congress, three counts of making false statements, two counts of perjury, and several counts of being a total dickhead. If convicted on all charges, he could spend up to 30 years in prison along with a $1.5 million fine.
, Clemens and his former trainer, Brian McNamee, testified to a House of Representatives committee investigating the abundance of steroids in Major League Baseball. While McNamee and New York Yankees pitcher Andy Pettitte eventually came clean and threw Clemens under the bus, Roger continued to lie through his teeth.
I guess cheaters never really do win.
