Ten Reasons to Root for Tampa Bay

Today, the Tampa Bay Rays will take on the Chicago White Sox in game one of the ALDS at Tropicana Field. I thought it might be fun to find some new reasons to love the TB Rays, other than my intense dislike for the CWS team, their terrible network announcers, and their annoying fans.

So, in the spirit of creativity, here is a list of 10 new fun reasons why we should all jump on the crowded Tampa Bay bandwagon.

10.) This marks the first time in more than a decade that a team other than the Yankees or the Red Sox have won this division.

9.) Any way you look at it, a Ray, be it a ocean-bound or sunshine, is a far better mascot than a article of clothing.

8.) This is the first time the Rays have been in a playoff game of any kind in their short franchise. Wow!

7.) The Rays have baseball's second smallest payroll. I heard they get paid in Cracker Jack and circus peanuts.

6.) A.J. Pierzynski.

5.) C'mon, who doesn't like orange juice? And, with cold and flu season coming, what more reason to celebrate Tropicana Field?

4.) Seven of the TB starting line up nine are postseason rookies, as well as all four starting pitchers. They need to feel good about themselves, right?

3.) Skipper Joe Maddon told his club to sit back, and enjoy the ride. Do you think that's what Ozzie's saying to his guys? Adorable.

2.) Carlos Pena said on his blog, that it's like Christmas Eve for him. Heart on his sleeve.

1.) We ALL want to see Ozzie Guillen lose it. Literally, and mentally. Now that's fun.
