Get Well Soon, Doug

Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Doug Davis has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

The 32-year-old lefty struggled in his exhibition start against Colorado Friday night, surrendering back-to-back-to-back longballs in the second inning. Overall, he gave up eight runs on nine hits, striking out five.

Weird! I don't know about you guys, but if I was just diagnosed with cancer, I'm not sure how well I'd pitch, either.

Davis is expected to have surgery on April 10th, but the club has no idea when they'll see him pitch next.

Sad. He probably pitched toay because he knows it could be the last outing for a long time.
