Monroe to Stick Around Minny

Craig Monroe uses the force to grab his batCraig Monroe, who was acquired by the Minnesota Twins in mid-November for a player to be named, agreed to a $3.82 million, one-year contract with the club on Tuesday -- the eve of the deadline for big league teams to strike a deal with unsigned players on their 40-man rosters.

The 30-year-old outfielder, who will most likely learn to spell [Michael] Cuddyer and [Delmon] Young at the corners, hit a combined .219 with 12 homers and 59 RBIs last season between the Detroit Tigers and Chicago Cubs.

His Jedi powers (pictured right) may come in handy considering the Twins' lethargic offense.

With my luck he'll find his mojo and whomp on the Tigers this year. Monroe has incredible talent, but he's just never been able to put it all together. I've taken to calling it Carlos Pena Syndrome.
