Guillen to KC, Jones May Follow

Shady outfielder Jose Guillen and the Kansas City Royals have reached an agreement on a $36 million, three-year contract.

The 31-year-old righty hit .290 with 23 bombs and 99 RBIs for the Seattle Mariners last year, but the club declined its $9 million option while Guillen turned down a $5 million player option and moved on with his life.

Last month, the San Francisco Chronicle reported that he bought nearly $20,000 worth of steroids and human growth hormone between 2003-05, making him a dirty, dirty cheater.

The Royals outfield is highlighted by David DeJesus in center, Emil Brown in left and Mark Teahan (who can also play first) out in right. We'll see this Spring which spot Guillen will patrol and if he'll give some pop to the middle of the batting order.

Interestingly, MLB.com has reported this evening that Royals GM Dayton Moore still may have free agent slugger Andruw Jones in his cross hairs, as well.
