Yay For A-Rod

Alex RodriguezAfter one helluva season, New York Yankees stud third baseman Alex Rodriguez was named Player of the Year by Baseball America, for the third time in his career. His outstanding performance was also honored with the Seattle Mariners in 2000 and the Texas Rangers in 2002.

A-Rod led the big leagues with 54 homers, 156 RBIs, 143 runs scored and a monster .645 slugging percentage. He also hit an impressive .314 average and swiped 24 bags.

After the World Series is finished, he is also expected to win his third American League MVP Award.

Rodriguez has until the tenth day after the World Series ends to decide whether to opt out of his record $252 million, 10-year contract and become a free agent. The Yankees plan to offer him an extension, but would end any talks if he does opt out.

for as much as i hate the yankees, i sure do love a rod.
not sure why... maybe it has something to do with all the records he'll break without asterisks behind them?
