Zumaya's Return Uncertain

Unfortunately for Detroit, the timetable for flame-thrower Joel Zumaya's return has actually extended.

Prior to Saturday's game against the Minnesota Twins, the Tigers reliever said he may not be able to return until September.

He is expected to meet with medical staff in New York on Monday to check the progress on his right middle finger, which was operated on in mid-May to repair a ruptured tendon.

Zumaya was 1-1 with 17 strikeouts and a 3.63 ERA in 13 appearance this season, accumulating a rather alarming eleven walks.
