Mariners Get Davis From Tribe

Jason Davis was traded to Seattle yesterday for player to be named.The Seattle Mariners strengthened their bullpen on Sunday, acquiring righty Jason Davis from the Cleveland Indians for a player to be named later.

Davis has appeared in eight games this season and has a 4.76 ERA with no decisions for the Indians, who he's spent his entire career with. He was 3-2 with a 3.74 ERA in 39 games last year.

Davis has made 52 starts in his 114 major league appearances, but Seattle manager Mike Hargrove plans to use him exclusively as a reliever for now. He is expected to join the Mariners during their series against the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday.
