Apparently, his $160 million contract isn't quite paying the bills, so Manny Ramirez is selling a $4,000 JENN-AIR grill on the popular merchandise trading website that comes with an autographed baseball.
The bidding ends on March 28th, and as of now, is up to $99,999,999.00. That's a lot of brats.
"I'm a businessman," he said with a laugh. "I need the money."
One of the early offers was for $5,111.11, a cryptic reminder of the $51.11 million the Red Sox offered for the rights to negotiate with Japanese gyroballer Daisuke Matsuzaka.
First of all, this isn't even really Manny's grill. It's his neighbors' that he used once over at his house. In fact, there have been over eleven bid retractions due to the seller changing the description of the item. Maybe Manny fessed up that it wasn't really his grill?
One thing is for sure: the Red Sox can't offer the outfielder any more than what he could make for his used crap on eBay.
UPDATE: This item is no longer available on eBay, most likely because the description was inaccurate and the bidding was outrageous.
