Schilling May Be With Sox In 2008. Or Not

Red Sox ace Curt Schilling plans to file for free agency at the end of the 2007 season.

Schilling wins the "Roger Clemens Media Whore of the Week" award. The 2007 New York Yankees finished a very close second.

Sox GM Theo Epstein refused to award Schill a contract extension based on the fact that he will be 41 at the beginning of 2008, and has not had a consistently good season since the 2004 World Series win.

However, just to prove exactly how "non-story" this whole story is, Schilling didn't rule out resigning with the Red Sox at the end of this year. Way to pull a Pedro and take your contract grievances to the Boston Globe.

Definitely needs an "ornery assholes" label. Or are those reserved for former Red Sox players?

Good point on the taking the complaints to the press think. SO. IRRITATING.

P.S. This was totally our 300th post.

Curt Schilling loves himself a little Curt Schilling. And he makes Jesse Helms look like a political moderate. I don't know this for a fact, but I'm guessing one could throw Lizzy into a tizzy by claiming his bloody sock was painted.

Yes. That is one good way to get me fired up. As much as I think the man is a blowhard 95 percent of the time, don't ever touch game 6 of the ALCS. Or I will beat you up.:)

Not to imply anything, Lizzy, but the picture? It doesn't make you seem to physically intimidating. If anything, you look like you might naughty someone to death. Either way, I'll take my chances: Ketchup can easily be found in most clubhouses.

Um, and I obviously meant "too" ... that's why they pay me the big bucks.

It's on like Donkey Kong, RandBall.

I'm fully prepared to have a fact-free internet rivalry. The flyover land between us will be my electric fence. Dave Roberts was probably out at second base, and if he wasn't, there's a good chance he cheated.
